Celebrating Matariki

During the first week of the term we gathered together as a whanau to reflect and learn more about Matariki.  We spent time in each of our whanau classes creating artwork to depict an as aspect of Matariki.  In Room 11 we designed and created a Rimu Whanau Korowai.

Out of this World

Our concept for term 3 is....

OUT OF THIS WORLD

There is just one Earth!

Looking out of this world we can reflect upon the earth's unique ability to sustain life.

God created a unique universe for us to care for.

This concept offers fabulous opportunities for discovering more about the awesome universe God has created for us, particularly our planet and the solar system we live in.

It will be wonderful to see all the learning and exploration we will do together as a class and with our whanau about this term's concept.

Fun with Whaea Glo

Today we had fun in our class when Whaea Glo came to visit Room 11.  She helped us with our te reo Maori and we had a fantastic time learning how to say where something is Maori using our poi.
