Fun with Whaea Glo

Today we had fun in our class when Whaea Glo came to visit Room 11.  She helped us with our te reo Maori and we had a fantastic time learning how to say where something is Maori using our poi.

Repeating Patterns

With our concept being "Pattern" this term, we have been learning about repeating patterns in Maths.  Today we created repeating patterns using our maths equipment in class. Here are some of our creations.

The Holy Spirit is like the wind

Over the last few weeks we have been learning about the Holy Spirit.  Although we cannot see the Holy Spirt we know that it is all around us.  We made paper darts and had fun flying these in the air and wind, which like the Holy Spirit, we cannot see but know it still exists.

FIFA Under 20's World Cup - WoolIam visits SFX

What an exciting surprise we had today.  Our whole school gathered together in our Parish Hall for a very special visitor.  The FIFA Under 20's Football World Cup is coming to town and we were very lucky to have the FIFA Mascot come to our school.  What a lot of laughter and fun could be heard when he arrived to see us.  WoolIam was so funny.  Some of our students were lucky to win footballs... they nearly shook poor WoolIam's hooves off!

Hope you can make it to some of the games.  Such a fabulous opportunity to see some great football being played by amazing young football stars.  We are very fortunate to have four games here in Whangarei.
